The oldest covered  bridge in the United States is the Hyde Hall covered bridge.  It was built in 1825 and restored in 1967.  It was placed on the NY State, and National Registers of Historic Places in 1998.  This bridge sits on one of the trails at the Glimmerglass State Park near Cooperstown, NY.  One of the walking trails starts near this bridge.   Very scenic with the frozen stream running beneath it.
